Press Release
PENTICTON, BC–The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) has announced suspensions stemming from the conclusion of the January 26th contest between the Penticton Vees and West Kelowna Warriors at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
The
BCHL has suspended Vees forwards Michael Rebry for five (5) games and
Cody DePourcq and Brayden Park each for one (1) game. Also the league
office has fined the Vees an undisclosed amount, as a result of the
altercation at the end of the game.
Rebry will immediately serve his suspension and will be eligible to return on February 17th
when the Vees host the Cowichan Valley Capitals. DePourcq and Park will
each serve a one game suspension, determined by the team, before the
conclusion of the regular season.
The
Vees organization will not appeal the ruling and supports the BCHL’s
decision. Per league policy, the Vees will no longer comment on the
incident.
