Press Release
The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League have acquired 3 year NAHL veteran forward Dan Dupell along with 2 year NAHL veteran defenseman Mick Bruce from the Topeka RoadRunners for a 2012-2013 Tender and future considerations.
Dupell, a Collegeville, PA native has played in 37 games with the RoadRunners this season recording 8 goals and 7 assists. Dupell put up 39 points in the 2011-2012 season and 22 points in his rookie year in 2010-2012. Dupell will be reunited with his Midget teammate and current Port Huron Fighting Falcon captain, Rick DeRosa. They played together on the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers U18 team in 2009-2010.
Bruce, a Lafayette, CO native has played in 35 games with the RoadRunners this season recording 2 goals and 5 assists while being a +8. In Bruce’s rookie season with Topeka he put up 1 goal and 6 assists.
Head Coach and General Manager Michael Gershon on the moves, “We think that this trade makes a lot of sense for our team right now. Any time you can add players that have a combined 5 years of NAHL playoff experience it’s a no brainer. Mick is a smart and steady defenseman that is going to solidify an already good defense core. While we are looking forward to Dan continuing to be a consistent point producer for us as he has in past seasons.”
