Kitchener Rangers General Manager and
Head Coach Steve Spott announced today that the team has completed a
trade with the Peterborough Petes.
In the deal, the Kitchener Rangers
send overage forward Nick Czinder to the Peterborough Petes, along with
the Rangers’ eighth round pick in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League
Priority Selection and a fourth round pick in 2015 (from Oshawa).
In return, the Petes send OA forward
Derek Schoenmakers to the Rangers with Peterborough’s 10th round pick in
the 2013 Priority Selection.
A native of Kitchener, Schoenmakers
has played 174 regular season career games with Mississauga, Sudbury and
Windsor. The veteran has recorded 48 career goals and added 40 assists.
