Team Orr prevails in 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Press Release

Laurent Dauphin scored a goal and assisted on another to lead Team Orr to a 3-0 victory over Team Cherry at the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in front of a capacity crowd at the Metro Centre in Halifax.

It was a high octane start to the hockey game with both teams rushing up and down the ice. A few solid hits were also thrown, raising the level of intensity of the tilt.

Quebec Remparts forward Adam Erne opened the scoring for Team Orr at 3:39. He went around a defenseman before sliding the puck behind hometown favorite Zachary Fucale. Laurent Dauphin and Seth Jones collected helpers on the opening marker.

Team Orr retreated to their dressing room with a one-goal lead after twenty minutes of play.

It didn’t take Team Orr a lot of time to get the offence back in gear in the second period. Laurent Dauphin registered his second point of the game with a nifty goal prior to the five-minute mark. Just a few minutes later, Nicolas Petran made it 3-0 after being on the receiving end of a great Anthony Duclair pass.

Neither team managed to score in the third period resulting in the first shutout in the history of the event.

Martin Spencer was stellar in net for Team Orr, stopping all sixteen shots he faced combining for the shutout with Philippe Desrosiers.

Laurent Dauphin was named the player of the game for Team Orr while goaltender Tristan Jarry made sixteen saves and received the honour for Team Cherry.
