VEES LAND MIDGET PROSPECT

PENTICTON, BC– The Penticton Vees Jr. ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce forward Josh Blanchard (96) has committed for the 2013-2014 season.

Vees Head Coach & GM Fred Harbinson on Blanchard’s commitment, “Josh’s scoring ability at his age is second to none and he has proven he can play at the junior ‘A’ level. His composure and determination matches his skill set and that’s what we’re most excited about.”

Blanchard, 16, is currently playing for the Okanagan Rockets of the BC Major Midget League (BCMML). The Kelowna product leads the Rockets in scoring and is fourth in league scoring with 46 points in 25 games. Blanchard is also second in league goal-scoring with 25 goals and the Rockets are currently in second place with a 20-2-4 record.

Blanchard has played three games for the Vees as an AP to date; his debut was on December 12th against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Blanchard created a “buzz” in his debut, as he was one of the Vees best forwards and played alongside Wade Murphy and Sam Mellor.
