Press Release

The Woodstock Slammers will have new player in their line-up and are proud to announce that Steve Gillard will be joining the team tomorrow.
Gillard will be joining the team tomorrow and will be making his debut this weekend at home versus the Dieppe Commandos and the Weeks Crushers. The St. John's, NL product played 169 games in the QMJHL and registered 3 goals and 36 assists. Gillard was a member of the Team Atlantic under Coach Tatarnic. Gillard is described as a dependable defnseman that is very responsible in his end but has offensive abilities.
"We're very happy Steve has decided to join our team and we feel we have improved our defense core in a big way. We know what he can do on the ice and Slammer fans can expect to see a player who wants to win and a player who competes very hard. Steve brings leadership qualities that will help us in the second half on and off the ice. We feel Steve is a big piece in our quest to defend our championships. I look forward to seeing Steve arrive, and welcoming him to the team" commented Coach Tatarnic.
Fans are reminded that the Slammers host the Dieppe Commandos on Friday with a 7:30 start time and the Weeks Crushers on Sunday with a 3:30 PM start time.
