BLACKER COMMITTED TO WESTERN MICHIGAN

Press Release

Earlier this year, Milton Icehawks affiliated midget netminder Benjamin Blacker  confirmed his commitment to join the Western Michigan University Broncos beginning with the 2015-16 NCHC season.

The member of the Brampton 45's minor midget club and native of Oakville, Ontario is one of the more impressive '97 birthdates between the pipes, sporting a record of 27-15-1-6 for the 45's with a remarkable 1.52 goals against average and .936 save percentage.  Blacker would get the call to play five games for the Icehawks this season and would impress all by posting a 3-1-1 record for the non-playoff team, including his first junior shutout, a 42 save, 2-0 whitewash of the South Division regular season champion St. Michael's Buzzers.  He would be named one of the three stars in three of his five OJHL appearances, including twice being named 1st Star, and sports a 2.35 goals against average and .942 save percentage.
Congratulations to Benjamin and best of luck as he closes out 2012-13 and beyond.
