Strand, from Invermere, B.C., is in his second season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Strand was identified by the club out of one of the 2011 spring identification camps.

“Tryg has shown leadership since he’s been in a Bulldogs uniform and I think that it has really shown this season with his maturity and work ethic,” said Alberni Valley Bulldogs general manager and head coach Kevin Willison. “He understanding what it takes to win and that’s just one of the reasons Tryg is looked upon his peers in the locker room as a leader,” added Willison.

Strand consistantly works hard both on and off the ice, whether at the gym or with his college studies. Strand also has been very active in the community, most recently taking part in the recycling program that the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and the Alberni Clayoquot Regional District will be presenting in local schools.
