The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce the
Corporate Hype Player/Goalie/Rookie of the Month awards for January. The
Player of the Month is Alex Globke of the Carleton Place Canadians. The
Canadians went 8-2 for the month while Globke collected an impressive
20 points (11G, 9A) in those 10 games. The Waterford, Michigan native
was voted a game star in 7 of the 10 games (four firsts and 3 seconds).
He has been the catalyst for the Canadians, their leading scorer with 58
points (23G, 35A) and is 11th in overall league scoring. Andrew Pikul
of the Brockville Braves has been selected Goalie of the Month. The
Braves enjoyed an outstanding month winning 10-11 and Pikul led all
goalies in wins with an impressive 7-1 record in that stretch. The
Braves netminder posted a solid .915 Save Percentage and 2.75 Goals
Against while also being selected a game star in five of the eight games
played. Darren Smith of the Pembroke Lumber Kings is the Rookie of the
Month award winner. The Lumber Kings goalie played like a veteran and
has definitely found his groove going 5-2-0-1 for the month and 13-5-0-1
in his last 18 starts. Smith was outstanding boasting a 2.75 Goals
Against and .925 Save Percentage for January and Top 10 for goalies
overall in both categories.

Collins (Ottawa Jr. Senators) andD Holden Anderson (Hawkesbury Hawks)
Goalie of the Month – Brendan O’Neill (Carleton Place Canadians) and Jordan Piccolino (Cornwall Colts)
Rookie of the Month – F Hunter Racine (Ottawa Jr. Senators) and D Kelly Summers (Carleton Place Canadians)
