Grizzlies defenceman Jones inks deal to Bemidji State

Press Release

Victoria Grizzlies defenceman DJ Jones has committed to play at Bemidji State University next season for the Beavers.

Jones leads Grizzlies defencemen this season with 31 points including 27 assists. He has far and away surpassed his point totals of last season when he had two goals and 10 assists while playing for Surrey and Penticton.

Bemidji State plays in the NCAA's Division I Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Jones is the only current BCHLer committed to attend the school for next season. Former Nanaimo Clippers defenceman Graeme McCormack currently plays on the Beavers.

Bemidji is a town of about 14,000 people in north central Minnesota. It is about 335 kilometres north of Jones' hometown of Plymouth.
