Lakers’ goaltender Talor Joseph named Pizza Hut player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that Fort Frances Lakers goaltender Talor Joseph has been selected Pizza Hut player of the week for the period ending Feb. 3.

In his lone start of the week the recently acquired netminder turned in a 35-save performance leading the Lakers to a 4-2 road victory over the Dryden Ice Dogs this past Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Joseph, who hails from Sherwood Park, Alta., is 2-0 early in his tenure with Fort Frances picking up wins over both Dryden and Thunder Bay.

Pizza Hut player of the week Honourable Mention went to Mike Dietrich, (F) Minnesota Wilderness, Joey Haydock, (F) Minnesota Iron Rangers and Chris Sitko, (F) Dryden Ice Dogs.

At the conclusion of the 2012-13 regular season the SIJHL’s top performer will earn the Pizza Hut player of the year award.
