Mr. Oh Canada Coming to Penticton

Press Release

PENTICTON, BC–Underwriters Insurance is proud to present Mark Donnelly, aka Mr. O Canada at the Penticton Vees game on February 8th, as part of the Hogs vs. Hosers Charity Fundraising Night in Support of FEED THE VALLEY and SD67 Breakfast Program.

Since 2001, Mark Donnelly has been singing the national anthem at Vancouver Canucks homes games. He’s also well known for encouraging crowd participation as he belts out the national anthem. Donnelly began singing national anthems for the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey league, while working for the Scranton, Pennsylvania Parish. Donnelly is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, with a Bachelor of Music degree. Born and raised in Vancouver and North Delta, Donnelly started playing hockey when he was 12 and hasn’t stopped since, actively playing between the pipes in local rec leagues. His wife Catherine and their nine children reside in White Rock.

Penticton Vees fans will get to see Donnelly show off his goalie skills, as he will strap on the pads and play in goal for the Penticton Fire Department during the first intermission exhibition game against the Penticton RCMP Detachment. Fans are encouraged to come to the SOEC early, as Mr. O Canada will be signing autographs on the concourse prior to puck drop; doors open at 4pm.

Fans who bring a non-perishable food donation for the FEED THE VALLEY program  will receive discounted tickets.  Adults and seniors will be offered $10.00 tickets and children and student tickets are only $2.00.  The giving gets better.  The Penticton Vees will donate $1.00 from each adult and senior ticket purchased directly to School District 67’s Breakfast Program.
