Rocket Skills Competition 2013

The Avis Rent A Car/PEI Rocket Skills Competition is taking place this Saturday, February 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.  The Rocket players will be divided into two teams and they will showcase their talents in various competitions as they compete for points to declare a winning team.  To earn points, players will be required to exhibit speed and accuracy while the goaltenders will need to be sharp when called upon.  

This is a fun event for the players and fans and this year we added a component that can send a lucky fan away $1000.00 richer.  Between the players’ competitions, 6 fans will be drawn to shoot into an open net from the far blue line.  From these 6 people, the fan that scores the most goals will receive 3 pucks to shoot from center ice.  If he/she shoots it through the target in the net, he/she will receive $1000.00, compliments of Darrell Kennedy and Avis Car Rental in St.  Johns, Newfoundland.  As a bonus, if the fan misses, he/she can choose any Rocket player to try the same thing.  If the player scores, the fan will still receive the $1000.00.  3 of the shooters will be determined through a random draw with season ticket holders and the other three shooters will be drawn from ballots inserted in game day programs from January 31, February 1 and this Friday night.  The draws will be done during the skills competition so you must be in attendance to participate.

Come out to see your favorite player display his skills, give yourself a chance to showcase your shooting accuracy in an attempt to win $1000.00 and get your picture taken with your favorite Rocket.
