ROYALS SIGN ISAAC SCHACHER

Victoria, BC – The Victoria Royals are proud to announce that they have signed 1995-born defenceman Isaac Schacher (SHOCK-er) to a Western Hockey League Standard Players’ Agreement. Schacher will dress for the Royals tonight when they face the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook, BC.

The 6’5”, 200lb rearguard currently plays for the Kimberley Dynamiters of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). So far this season, the 18-year-old has appeared in 45 games and has collected 36 points (14g-22a) to go along with 44 penalty minutes. Schacher’s 36 points also have him ranked sixth for scoring amongst defencemen in the 20-team league.

“We’re very pleased that Isaac has agreed to join the Royals organization,” said General Manager Cameron Hope. “He is having a very good season playing in Kimberley, where his development continues. We look forward having him contribute to our team’s success in the year’s to come.”

The Kimberley, BC native is in his second full season with the Dynamiters. During the 2011-12 KIJHL season, Schacher scored 24 points (3g-21a) and 50 minutes in penalties over 49 games played. The defender also skated in 13 games during the 2011-12 KIJHL playoffs and amassed one assist and 12 penalty minutes.
