Sanctions for Drummondville and Val-d’Or

Press Release

Following the events that unfolded at the end of the matchup between the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Val-d’Or Foreurs, the Director of player safety of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, announced the following sanctions. Each one of the two organizations receives a $5 000 fine and head coaches, Mario Durocher and Mario Duhamel are suspended for the next 3 games. Moreover, the Val-d’Or Foreurs forward, Samuel Henley, following an aggressor game misconduct will be suspended for 2 additional games to the automatic suspension. Furthermore, Jordan Murray, the Voltigeurs defenseman, is suspended for 3 games following a hit to the head to his opponent, Pierre-Maxime Poudrier, at 9:55 before the end of the third period. Finally, Louis Robitaille, the Voltigeurs’ assistant coach, gets a $1 000 fine for his inappropriate behavior during and at the end of the game.

The Director of Player Safety took these decisions after viewing the video of the incidents, examining the officials’ report, speaking with both organisations and consulting his senior advisor, Sebastien Bordeleau.
